ABSTRACT
In this study we investigate the effect of deep cryogenic treatment (DCT) on a high-alloyed ferrous alloy (HAFA) to understand resulting chemical and physical changes HAFA's microstructure properties. Using multiple materials analysis techniques, uncover fundamental HAFA with DCT, link in material properties microstructure. The increased carbide nucleation DCT is linked greater solute mobility from modified stress state bonding solutes matrix. turn provides possibility prior formation points for primordial that act as accelerators both evolution carbides. These result microstructural homogeneity fundamentally led surface applicability advanced wear, corrosion fatigue resistance demanding conditions.
