ABSTRACT
This paper describes the contents of 2016 edition HITRAN molecular spectroscopic compilation. The new replaces previous 2012 and its updates during intervening years. absorption compilation is composed five major components: traditional line-by-line parameters required for high-resolution radiative-transfer codes, infrared cross-sections molecules not yet amenable to representation in a form, collision-induced data, aerosol indices refraction, general tables such as partition sums that apply globally data. greatly extended terms accuracy, spectral coverage, additional phenomena, added line-shape formalisms, validity. Moreover, molecules, isotopologues, perturbing gases have been address issues atmospheres beyond Earth. Of considerable note, experimental IR almost 300 important different areas atmospheric science database. can be accessed through www.hitran.org. Most data now cast into an underlying relational database structure offers many advantages over long-standing sequential text-based structure. empowers user ways. It enables incorporation set fundamental per transition, sophisticated easy user-defined output formats, very convenient searching, filtering, plotting A powerful application programming interface making use structured query language (SQL) features higher-level applications also provided.
