ABSTRACT
Anemia is known to be associated with adverse outcomes in several cardiac procedures. Recent data suggest patients baseline anemia undergoing mitral transcutaneous edge-to-edge valve repair (TEER) MitraClip. However, was not conclusive. We conduct a meta-analysis explore the association between and TEER. conducted literature search from inception through January 2024 EMBASE MEDLINE databases. included studies that report TEER without anemia. Baseline defined by hemoglobin level of < 13 g/dL men 12 women. Data each study were combined using random-effects, generic inverse variance method DerSimonian Laird calculate odds ratio (OR), 95% confidence interval (CI). Four studies, involving 1,351 patients, meta-analysis. increased risk mortality (OR 1.98, (CI) 1.35-2.89, I2 0.0%, p-value 0.00). There no significant difference procedural access or vascular complications 0.64, CI 0.08-5.28, 0.68; OR 1.92, 0.77-4.75, 0.16, respectively). up 2-fold after success
