ABSTRACT
Abstract In this paper, a new frequency selection method for efficient FRF-based model updating is proposed. Using the proposed method, the frequency points used for updating can be selected in an automatic way such that the selected frequencies can carry as much information as possible with a limited number of frequencies. In order to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, a numerical example of truss structure is used. Different sets of frequency points for updating are compared in terms of numerical stability as well as updated results. Finally, the proposed method is extended to deal with rotor–bearing systems.
