ABSTRACT
Diastolic dysfunction is an early clinical feature of feline hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). The left ventricular filling in diastole facilitated by the diastolic intraventricular pressure gradient (IVPG). study objectives were to evaluate color Doppler M-mode-derived IVPG calculation cats as a non-invasive assessment relaxation property determine normal ranges peak and investigate influence function heart rate (HR).One hundred six client-owned apparently healthy cats.Prospective cross-sectional study. Quantitative analysis M-mode images was used estimate total segmental IVPGs non-invasively.The 0.76 mmHg (95% reference interval (RI): 0.28-1.29 mmHg), basal 0.34 RI: 0.07-0.63 mid-apical 0.42 0.15-0.71 mmHg). Total increased with HR (P < 0.003), while percent independent. A short isovolumic time (IVRT) high mitral annular velocity associated increase = 0.008 P 0.009, respectively) adjusted for HR. An inflow 0.001).Feline IVRT, which believed be physiologic adrenergic response sympathetic tone. Future studies changes HCM are needed applicability estimated cardiology.
