ABSTRACT
Leading edge erosion of wind turbine blades is causing high maintenance cost and therefore higher levelized energy (LCOE). In order to lower the LCOE design reliable blades, causes rain have be understood. Traditionally, (modified) waterhammer pressure equation used determine contact between liquid droplet (elastic) target. This however independent time, size distance center impact which been identified as important parameters. paper focuses on fundamental mechanisms proposes a numerical model that conforms these dynamic elastic The effect variations in diameter, velocity target elasticity resulting profiles was investigated. output can for low 2D axisymmetric finite element simulations mechanical performance coating systems allows material geometry optimization.
