ABSTRACT
The intragranular strains and the microstructure within recrystallizing grains in single phase pure iron have been systematically studied 3D using synchrotron micro-diffraction. In contradiction to common knowledge we observe that residual elastic of up 1–2 × 10−3 are present grains. local strain variations individual can be similar magnitude those between different effects processing parameters, including rolling reduction, recrystallized volume fraction, cooling rate, as well microstructural grain size, orientation internal misorientation, on development quantified. It is suggested difference defect density surrounding deformed matrix, redistribution medium long-range stresses grains, main reasons for such stress levels calculated their possible impact mechanical properties recrystallization processes discussed.
