ABSTRACT
Abstract CdSe nanocrystallites have been successfully loaded inside the channel of SBA-15 by a two-step impregnation at room temperature. The method is safe and does not require any special equipment. XRD, N 2 adsorption–desorption isotherms, HRTEM, EDS, FTIR, and UV–vis absorption spectrum were used to characterize the structure of the composite materials. It is found that most of the CdSe nanocrystallites are about 7 nm, and they stretch along the channels of SBA-15 with the length varying from 10 to 40 nm. The CdSe nanocrystallites inside the SBA-15 hosts show a significant blue-shift in the UV–vis absorption spectrum.
