ABSTRACT
Abstract We reported that the polyaniline, PANI, nanotubes can be synthesized with controlled rectangular or square pore shape by taking β-cyclodextrin, β-CD, as template via the solution polymerization. A comparison of SEM and TEM images found that the formation of rectangular or square PANI/CD nanotubes are controlled by the total added amount of ANI and β-CD. The reason is due to the PANI and β-CD formed host–guest inclusion complex where the hydrogen bond to be a dominator and was adjusted by varying the amount of ANI and β-CD.
