ABSTRACT
Abstract Thermally stable lamellar crystalline zirconia (TSLCZ) was prepared by a reflux-hydrothermal hybrid method. ZrOCl 2 , NaOH and lauric acid (LA) were used as Zr source, precipitant and supramolecular template, respectively. TSLCZ is well crystallized and exhibits ordered lamellar superstructure and good thermostability at 500 °C. TEM confirmed the 1.0 nm periodic lamellar superstructure detected and calculated by SAXRD (1.04 nm), which is composed of 0.5 nm-thick framework and pore layers alternatively. The synthesis mechanism of TSLCZ via a LA template was proposed and discussed in thermodynamics.
