ABSTRACT
In this paper, we present a broadband low-noise amplifier (LNA), using active-feedforward noise-cancellation and complementary n/pMOS configurations. Based on traditional common-gate (CG) common-source (CS) noise canceling topology, the applied active feedforward stage reduces CG's dc current alleviates its resistive load tradeoff between headroom. Meanwhile, follows same cancellation (NC) principle as CG transistors. A low figure is thus obtained. addition, configuration used to cancel second-order distortions double efficiency. Two π-type matching networks are utilized broaden bandwidth of S11 gain. After applying these techniques, an LNA prototype was designed in standard 65 nm CMOS technology. Simulation results display gain 14–17 dB (NF) 2.45–3.45 within 1–12 GHz. The linearity IIP3 IIP2 −2.4 23 dBm at 5 presented circuit consumes only 7.8 mW power while occupying area 0.21 mm2.
