ABSTRACT
Abstract Thermoluminescence study of RE3+ (RE3+= Eu3+ and Dy3+) activated CaTiO3 phosphors and determination of trapping parameters are the main focus of this work. Here, CaTiO3: X mol % RE3+ phosphors were synthesized by low temperature solution combustion method at 500 ± 20 OC using citric acid as a fuel. Structure, bonding between each element of the sample and morphology of the sample were analyzed using X‐ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), which showed that the samples were crystallized in a well known structure. Both the samples were irradiated with 60Co- γ (gamma) source and thermoluminescence studies of both samples were done by Nucleonix TL 1009I thermoluminescence (TL) reader. Chen's peak shape method, Initial rise method and Ilich method are used to determine trapping parameters of both samples like activation energy (E), order of kinetics (b) and frequency factor (s). This all results indicate that both the phosphors are potential candidate for the thermoluminescence dosimetry.
