Quality of care provided by Multiple Sclerosis Centers during Covid-19 pandemic: Results of an Italian multicenter patient-centered survey

ABSTRACT
Covid-19 pandemic impacted on management of people with Multiple Sclerosis (pwMS). Level satisfaction pwMS regarding the care received by staff Centers (MSCs) during was not fully investigated. In a large patient-centered multicenter study, therapeutic adherence and quality MSCs assessed.In April-May 2021, an online survey widespread 16 Italian MSCs. Frequencies, percentages and/or means standard deviations were calculated to describe sample. ANOVAs performed evaluate effect sociodemographic clinical variables overall pwMS' rating MSC assistance.1670 completed (67.3% women). During pandemic, 88% did change their disease modifying therapy schedule, 89.1% reached no or little difficulties. Even if only 1.3% participants underwent tele-health follow-up visit staff, 80.1% believed that services should be improved regardless pandemic. 92% satisfied how took charge needs; revealed duration level pandemic.The results efficient response provided basis for implementing would further improve taking patients, particularly those longer disease, higher disability, living far from MSC.
