ABSTRACT
There are increasing concerns and growing regulations over contamination environmental pollution. One of the major is pollution caused by mineral oils. As world oil reserves dwindling pressures for finding alternative replacements increasing. Vegetable oils a biodegradable renewable source lubricants. Thus, they seem to be attractive candidates replacement In this study, chemical modification sunflower waste cooking through epoxidation reaction was used improve its physicochemical properties as biolubricant. Then, using response surface method (RSM), yield statistically modeled quadratic regression equation optimal points were obtained independent variables. The maximum amount 82.9% optimum values variables were; 53.7 g acetic acid, 30.1 H2O2, 4.1 h time. epoxide mixture starting material produce SWCO triester during three reactions analyzed with help FTIR spectrum analysis. It found that final product (SWCO triester) met requirements ISO VG10 standard.
