Conservation of grassland birds in South Brazil: a land management perspective

ABSTRACT
We explored how grassland birds responded to three different managements in areas. Moreover, we examined whether bird's communities were depending on the biome grasslands inserted. carried out bird surveys six private farms Upland (Atlantic Forest biome) and Pampas (Pampa biome). Land use included: (1) natural – paddocks with cattle stocking around 0.8 animal units/ha, without improvement/crop plantation last four years; (2) improved usage of fertilizers forage improvement exotic species, (3) cultivated fields forage/crop plantations. Threatened restricted found areas while more common species occurred fields. Bird community was biomes some related others Pampas. highlighted importance its management maintain richness their abundance south Brazil.
