Power control of CiADS core with the intensity of the proton beam

ABSTRACT
This paper reports the control method for core power of China initiative Accelerator Driven System (CiADS) facility. In CiADS facility, an intense external neutron source provided by a proton accelerator coupled to spallation target is used drive sub-critical reactor. Without any rod inside reactor, controlled adjusting beam intensity. order continuously change intensity, adjustable aperture considered be at Low Energy Beam Transport (LEBT) line accelerator. The size adjusted based on Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) controllers, comparing either setting intensity or with measured value. To evaluate proposed method, model built point reactor kinetics six delayed groups. simulations have indicated that can stably size. response time in adjustment depends mainly
