ABSTRACT
Abstract The microdosimetric approach to the interpretation of nuclear fragmentation events generated by cosmic radiation in near-earth orbits is described. A method is proposed for calculating the linear energy in the interactions of secondary charged fragments with a sensitive volume. All calculations were carried out using dE/dx values obtained in data processing of space experiments. The probability density distributions of linear energy in micro volumes of water for different types of fragmentation events are obtained.
