ABSTRACT
The DECAL sensor is a depleted monolithic active pixel (DMAPS) being developed to explore technological solutions for digital electromagnetic calorimeters. For this application, the number of pixels above threshold used estimate shower energy and therefore size required be sufficiently small avoid hit saturation. Fully Depleted (FD) sensors have been designed fabricated in TowerJazz 180 nm CMOS standard modified imaging processes, respectively. latter uses modifications implant configuration that improve charge collection radiation hardness, including levels barrel ECAL regions FCC-hh (few 1015 neq/cm2). Both variants feature matrix 64 × with pitch 55μm, read out every 25 ns. FD, logic has extend in-pixel comparator trim range from five six bits, sixth bit de-activate comparator. Characterisation results equalisation matrix, scans testing under monochromatic X-rays 90Sr source, are presented.
