ABSTRACT
The Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment prepares its Phase-2 upgrade for the high-luminosity era of LHC operation (HL-LHC). Due to increase occupancy, trigger latency and rates, full electronics CMS Drift Tube (DT) chambers will need be replaced. In new design, time bin digitisation chamber signals around 1~ns, totality forwarded asynchronously service cavern at resolution. backend system in charge building primitives each chamber. These contain information level about muon candidates position, direction, collision time, are used as input L1 trigger. added functionalities improve robustness against ageing. An algorithm based on analytical solutions reconstructing DT primitives, called Analytical Method, has been implemented both a software C++ emulator firmware. Its performance estimated using with simulated real data samples, through hardware implementation tests. Measured efficiencies 96 98\% all qualities spatial resolutions close ultimate chambers. A prototype chain HL-LHC Method primitive generation installed during Long Shutdown 2 operated cosmic taking campaigns 2020 2021. Results from this validation step, so-called Slice Test, presented.
