ABSTRACT
Simulations of JET ITER-like wall high-confinement mode plasmas, including type-I edge-localised modes (ELMs), using JINTRAC for the background plasmas and ERO2.0 tungsten erosion transport, predict virtually perfect screening primary W sources at divertor targets during both ELM inter-ELM phases. The largest source influx to main plasma is predicted be outer vertical due sputtering by energetic fuel (D, T) atoms from charge-exchange reactions. predictions accurately reproduce measured I emission in low-field side divertor, but underpredict II a factor 10. Potential reasons discrepancy include uncertainties atomic data, assumptions on sheath properties angle distribution, impact metastable states.
