ABSTRACT
In this paper, we address the location of locker boxes in last-mile delivery context under uncertainty demand and capacity. The problem is modeled as an extension capacitated facility problem, which a fixed number facilities has to be opened, choosing among set potential locations. Facilities are characterized by homogeneous capacity, but capacity reduction may occur with given probability. incorporated through discrete scenarios. Each customer can assigned only compatible facilities, i.e., located within radius from individual location. goal first maximize total customers boxes, while, case tie on primary objective, secondary objective intervenes aiming at minimizing average distance covered reach their box. A stochastic mathematical model well three matheuristics presented. We provide extensive computational study order analyze impact different parameters complexity problem. importance considering input data discussed usage general indicators literature specific indicators. real-world related City Turin Italy analyzed detail. benefit achievable optimizing box locations comparison current configuration provided.
