ABSTRACT
The Carboniferous-Permian was an important period for the formation of coal mines and coaly source rocks across world. Controlled by paleoclimate, Cathaysia flora, transitional sedimentary environment delta, Early Permian Shanxi Formation in Huanghua Depression formed several layers that can be explored whole depression. However, development regularity distribution prediction high-quality are still not well understood. were taken as research object. With determination analysis organic carbon content, rock pyrolysis, vitrinite reflectance, we found matter abundance (i.e., TOC which changed from 20.3 % to 80.0 %), hydrocarbon generation potential S1 + S2 varied 7.82 mg/g 208.81 mg/g), kerogen types (mainly type II2) better than carbonaceous mudstone shale. Maceral component identification indicated had more liptinite (i.e. cutinite sporinite)and hydrogen-rich vitrinite, while shale mainly composed hydrogen-poor a small amount liptinite. ratios major trace elements, normal alkanes, isoparaffin suggested paleo-water salinity deposition part Revealed weak reduction their depositional environment, mostly controlled input oil- gas-prone matter. chiefly dominated strong with insignificant input. model established. This used predict Bohai Bay Basin.
