ABSTRACT
We report an improved low-energy extrapolation of the cross section for process Beryllium-7+proton -> Boron-8+photon, which determines Boron-8 neutrino flux from Sun. Our extrapolant is derived Halo Effective Field Theory (EFT) at next-to-leading order. apply Bayesian methods to determine EFT parameters and S-factor, using measured sections scattering lengths as inputs. Asymptotic normalization coefficients are tightly constrained by existing radiative capture data, contributions beyond external direct detected in data E < 0.5 MeV. Most importantly, S-factor zero energy be S(0)= 21.3 + - 0.7 eV b, uncertainty smaller a factor two than previously recommended. That recommendation was based on full range S(0) obtained among discrete set models judged reasonable. In contrast, subsumes all into controlled approximant, where they characterized nine These fit marginalized over via Monte Carlo integration produce prediction S(E).
