ABSTRACT
We develop a new formalism to describe the inclusive production of small radius jets in heavy-ion collisions, which is consistent with jet calculations simpler proton-proton system. Only at next-to-leading order (NLO) and beyond, parameter $R$ algorithm dependence cross section can be studied meaningful comparison experimental measurements possible. are able consistently achieve NLO accuracy by making use recently developed semi-inclusive functions within Soft Collinear Effective Theory (SCET). In addition, single logarithms size $\alpha_s^n\ln^n R$ resummed logarithmic (NLL$_R$) accuracy. The medium modified obtained framework SCET Glauber gluons that interaction medium. present numerical results for suppression sections heavy ion collisions LHC here extended directly corresponding substructure observables.
