ABSTRACT
We investigate the Collins azimuthal asymmetry of hadrons produced inside jets in transversely polarized proton-proton collisions. Recently, quark transversity distributions and fragmentation functions have been extracted within global analyses from data processes semi-inclusive deep inelastic scattering electron-positron annihilation. calculate for charged pions using these extractions RHIC kinematics at center-of-mass energies 200 500 GeV. compare our results with recent STAR Collaboration find good agreement, which confirms universality functions. In addition, we further explore impact transverse momentum dependent evolution effects.
