ABSTRACT
The evidence regarding associations between intensity-specific physical activity and adiposity in young children is inconclusive. aim of this study was to determine the multivariate intensity signatures associated with body mass index waist-to-height ratio aged 3-5 years. A sample 1003 Norwegian preschool (mean age 4.3 years, 51 % boys) from Active Learning Preschool(er)s provided data on (ActiGraph GT3X+), index, during 2019-2020. Multivariate pattern analysis used triaxial spectrum (0-99 ≥15,000 counts per minute) outcomes. We found significant for (explained variances = 10.8 11.5 %, respectively). For vertical axis, were negative time spent sedentary positive lower intensities (100-2999 both outcomes, whereas vigorous (≥4000 differed (no associations) (negative associations). Association patterns rather similar, but stronger suggest that might better capture resulting inactivity than index.
