ABSTRACT
Poly (vinyl chloride)/compatibilizer/organophilic-montmorillonite (OMMT) nanocomposites have been prepared by melt intercalation the masterbatch process. PVC/OMMT also directly blending PVC with OMMT for comparison. All composites were characterized Wide-angle X-ray Diffraction (WAXD) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). The results of WAXD TEM indicate that PVC/VAc/OMMT exfoliated structure successfully prepared, whilst partially intercalated produced. Notched Charpy impact strengths all are dramatically enhanced compared pristine material. show higher values tensile strength, elongation at break strength than nanocomposites, containing more compatibilizer display better mechanical properties. Impact some peculiar dependence on content give a maximum value certain loadings, in this paper, 1phr. should be kept below 5phr order to obtain good
