On the tearing fracture of polycarbonate films

In this research, the fracture of polycarbonate (PC) films using the trousers specimen has been investigated. From the development of the plastic zone in the torn ligaments, a work partitioning scheme based on the essential work of fracture (EWF) method has been developed to evaluate the fracture toughness of the PC films.
