ABSTRACT
The effect of phthalimide compound on the nonisothermal and isothermal crystallization behavior poly(lactic acid) (PLA) was investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) polarized optical microscopy. It found that incorporation a small amount promoted PLA significantly. Avrami model applied to analyze kinetics. exponent higher for PLA/phthalimide blends than neat PLA, indicating heterogeneous nucleation mechanism. These results indicate may act as an efficient nucleating agent improve expand its applications.
