ABSTRACT
Developing eco-friendly durable flame-retardant cotton fabric not only expands its application area, but also caters to the healthy and environmentally friendly concept of consumers. Herein, a reactive P/S/N-containing synergistic flame retardant (PSN) was synthesized prepare through chemical modifying method. Flame-retardant finishing deteriorated softness, whiteness, tensile strength air permeability fabric. PSN conferred outstanding retardancy, fire safety durability For treated with add-on 14.2%, it achieved an LOI value 36.5% extinguished spontaneously even after 50 laundering cycles. Its peak heat release rate, total growth rate index values decreased sharply than those control exhibited high-efficiency behavior, synergy between P, S N elements facilitated formation intumescent barrier on fiber surface during combustion. The hydrolysis covalent bond phosphate/sulphonate both accounted for decrease in retardancy
