ABSTRACT
Utilizing biomass resources to develop environmentally friendly and sustainable adhesives, replacing traditional petroleum-based has become an effective way solve resource shortages environmental pollution. Glucose, as the most widely distributed reducing monosaccharide in nature, great potential replace aldehyde-based adhesives production of artificial boards. In this study, G-PEI adhesive was prepared from glucose PEI by one pot one-step method on basis air oxidation Maillard reaction. The crosslinking mechanism between confirmed through detailed Fourier transform-infrared (FT-IR), 13C nuclear magnetic resonance (13C NMR), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) analysis. results showed that improvement bonding properties attributed formation cross-linking network synergistic effect covalent bond hydrogen bond. As a without additional oxidant, maximum wet strength boiling water wood-based panels with reaches 1.55 Mpa under hot pressure condition 200 °C. Even if hot-pressing temperature drops 160 °C, shear can still reach 0.67 MPa, which is better than relevant reports. This study revealed for simple preparation high performance wood oxidizing air.
