ABSTRACT
The R410A refrigerant (a blend of CH2F2 and C2HF5 with a mass ratio 50:50) has been extensively used because its small impact on the environment. We investigated effects CH2F2-to-C2HF5 blending in stoichiometric CH2F2/C2HF5/air mixture ignition combustion properties using microflow-reactor controlled temperature profile. Experiments weak flames showed two separated reaction zones (50:50), while single zone was observed for C2HF5. This computationally reproduced Linteris mechanism. According to computations different ratios steps 10 wt%, heat release rate (HRR) peaks were under all conditions. first HRR peak at lower second higher corresponded consumption CO oxidation, respectively. larger than CH2F2. shifted decreased increase fraction up 50 OH production by H2–O2 owing increased HF low-temperature zone. At fractions became dominant oxidation did not occur. range 60 100 wt% reactions contributing from H2O zone, instead reaction. A large change an F/H 1.8, reactions. tendency reactivities refrigerants is useful prevent unwanted ignition.
