ABSTRACT
Vented lead-acid (VLA) batteries are still used for starting, lighting, and ignition in modern vehicles with internal combustion engines, even though this technology was developed the mid-19th century. Despite importance of VLA batteries, there is not a different End Life strategy besides recycling it. The present work aims to define methodology extending life span based on remanufacturing process, which includes assessing battery's performance before after reconditioning identifying replaceable, reconditionable recyclable parts.
