The urban-rural disparities of the elderly labor supply and income in China

The labor supply behavior of the elderly becomes a window reflects difference between urban and rural in China. However, existing studies have not reflected continuation income social security gap on residents. Based CHARLS database, this paper investigates differences China, analyzes their influencing factors by Probit model, conducts an empirical study health Heckman sample selection model. found that: Age, pension other significant impact supply, is far more than rural. Health only income. recommends extension to poor elderly.
