ABSTRACT
In this work, a detailed analysis of low-cost wireless sensor network for structural health monitoring and testing is provided. Differently from other works available in literature, main goals simultaneously pursued the design are scalable sampling rate, time synchronization measurements limited amount computational memory resources. order to minimize power consumption, still offering real-time behavior, star topology has been considered. The center also behaves as gateway towards most popular wired communication protocols; thus, cloud computing services can be adopted analyzing data coming monitored sites. proof-of-concept solution physically implemented capable collect 16 nodes with rate 10 Hz range 1- year lifetime using conventional batteries.
