ABSTRACT
Rotor seals are the most important element of turbomachine. Seals characteristics determine efficiency, reliability and lifetime turbopump. Labyrinth have lower flow coefficient compared to gap seals. However they used not so often because under certain conditions may cause rotor dynamic instability. Vortex in seal grooves one causes oscillations. And their number, configuration, dimensions velocity directly depend on groove geometry. The paper describes modeling labyrinth using ANSYS CFX, influence geometry vortex dimension configuration.
