ABSTRACT
When modeling the wind speed in some location probability distributions are proving to be a useful tool. In this study we consider four different distributions: 2-parameter Weibull, 3-parameter Gamma and Lognormal. All of them applied on data recorded at airport Dolný Hričov. Parameters density estimated by maximum likelihood method. order select best fitting distribution there used χ2−test, Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, Akaike information criterion, Bayesian coefficient determination root mean square error. Based results Weibull performs as second best.
