ABSTRACT
The design of metallic cast parts requires a compromise between the fatigue resistance component and allowable defect size due to process. Treatment sensitivity coupled with intrinsic length scales grains or other microstructure attributes is ultimately necessary form predictive basis for effects in forming growing small cracks. This work presents experimental results on high cycle behavior specimens containing surface hemispherical under uniaxial tension loading wide range notch grain ratios, including cases where order of, even smaller, than size. influence strength clearly demonstrated corresponding are evaluated. paper shows that same specimen geometry, conditions morphology, limit directly dependent relationship Dimensionless Kitagawa diagram which impacts greater 0.7 times Armco iron three steels.
