ABSTRACT
In the last years, with development of Additive Manufacturing processes, research on mechanical behaviour lattice structures has gained significant attention. Depending application, properties unit cell can be modified by varying its geometry. The geometry is generally designed through Finite Element Analyses. However, simulation response components made rather complex, due to long computation time. Therefore, efficient simplified models should employed, but, in this case, an experimental validation required. paper, compression tests are carried out cubic specimens produced a carbon nylon filament Fused Deposition Modeling process and AlSi10Mg alloy Selective Laser Melting process. assess ensuring highest energy absorption among five selected geometries. Subsequently, (FE) model structure created using 1D beam elements experimentally validated results obtained testing manufactured specimens. activity paper proves effectiveness for importance validating FE their real failure mode.
