ABSTRACT
The high terrain of the Tibetan Plateau (TP) has a very important impact on weather and climate China, East Asia, South even Northern Hemisphere. However, in recent years, reasons for decrease precipitation southeastern edge plateau have resulted cutting-edge research regarding TP its surrounding areas downstream climate. In this study, spatial temporal distribution surface heat flux were analyzed from 1998 to 2022, possible mechanism eastern is explored. main conclusions are as follows: annual average sensible east side positive, with an 33.73 W/m2. latent 42.71 Precipitation similar seasonal distribution, modest amounts northwest substantial southeast. accumulated 670.69 mm. first mode Empirical Orthogonal Function (EOF) shows that decreases first, then increases, finally during 1998–2022. modes show opposite trend middle part plateau. initially decreases, western near Sichuan Basin. mode, however, displays tendency throughout rest region. north south sides decreased since 2013, which consistent changing flux. region, change not obvious. body Basin negatively correlated precipitation, is, when more (less), local less (more). side, positively indicating (less).
