ABSTRACT
Xanthine oxidase (XO), a form of xanthine oxidoreductase, is widely distributed in various human tissues. As major source for the generation superoxide radicals, XO involved induction oxidative stress and inflammation during ischemic hypoxic tissue injury. Therefore, we designed this study to identify role serum levels acute stroke (AIS) pathogenesis. In single-center prospective study, 328 consecutive patients with AIS first time were included, 107 age- sex-matched healthy controls from community-based screening population also included. The several conventional risk factors assessed. Multivariate analysis was applied evaluate relationship between clinical outcomes, nomogram models developed predict onset, progression prognosis AIS. Compared control group, level significantly higher group (P < 0.05) an independent factor (OR 8.68, 95% CI 4.62-14.33, P 0.05). Patients progressive or poor had much than stable good (all addition, 1.98, 1.12-3.50, = 0.018) 2.51, 1.47-3.31, 0.001). including prediction differentiation abilities. findings show that on admission certain predictive value
