ABSTRACT
Iron overload can lead to oxidative stress and intestinal damage happens frequently during blood transfusions iron supplementation. However, how influences mucosa remains unknown. Here, the aim of current study was investigate effects on proliferation differentiation stem cells (ISCs). An mouse model established by intraperitoneal injection 120 mg/kg body weight dextran once a fortnight for duration 12 weeks, an enteroid produced treatment with 3 mM or 10 ferric ammonium citrate 24 h. We found that caused morphology 64% reduction in villus height/crypt depth ratio, microvilli injury duodenum. mediated epithelial function inhibiting expression nutrient transporters enhancing secretory factors Meanwhile, inhibited ISCs regulated their into mature cells, such as goblet through Notch signaling pathway both mice enteroid. Furthermore, ferroptosis cells. In addition, could also inhibit pathway, affected ISCs. These findings reveal regulatory role ISCs, providing new insight internal mechanism affecting health, offering important theoretical basis scientific application nutrition regulation.
