ABSTRACT
Recently, zeolites with two-dimensional structures, so-called nanosheet zeolites, have been intensively advanced owing to their excellent catalytic performance compared conventional zeolite. This extremely thin structure of zeolite provides more accessible active sites contributing shortened diffusion pathways and primarily enables bulky molecules undergo reactions. Several such as MFI, FAU, MOR, MWW, TS-1, successfully synthesized. Generally, they are obtained by direct synthesis method involving surfactant structure-directing agent (SDA) or seed. Interestingly, almost every part the parameter conditions can alter characteristics this Thus, 2D also offer easily tunable characteristics. Up now, extensively studied a catalyst in methanol conversion, cracking, isomerization, alkylation, oxidation/reduction, lignocellulose other Furthermore, modification could be pursued enhance its performance. Pillaring is evidently effective improving textural properties protecting mesopore during SDA removal. Herein, we comprehensively present recent progress on development zeolites. review concludes summary discussion remaining challenges outlook for technologies.
