ABSTRACT
We propose an air-silica core microstructured optical fiber-based surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensor to simultaneously measure temperature and refractive index (RI). The sensing channel is formed by coating the outside of fiber with a gold film polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) layer as medium, then being immersed into liquid analyte. mode can penetrate through PDMS analyte, therefore both analyte RI changings lead variations SPR spectra that will be measured. Our numerical results demonstrate proposed support two peaks in x-polarized one peak y-polarized mode, providing detection approaches, peak-based polarization-based approaches. By measuring for approach, coefficients are −2.077 nm/°C −2.723 nm/°C, 1252 nm/RIU 1931 nm/RIU, respectively. While second −3.401 2973
