ABSTRACT
Persistent tapetal cell1 (PTC1) plays a curial role in pollen development, and is thought to function as transcriptional activator rice. However, the molecular mechanism of PTC1 regulating development its cis-elements are not well understood. We identified novel weak male sterility mutant (ms92) which exhibited expanded tapetum shrink grains. Map-based cloning allelic analysis suggested that ms92 was caused by DNA fragment substitution promoter PTC1. The decreased expression MS92/PTC1 cis-element indicated substituted sequence contained several potential binding negative feedback. specifically expressed microspores at young microspore stage, protein localized nucleus. further found functions transcription recognizing H3K4me3. Transcriptomic revealed number genes involved degeneration wall formation were down-regulated ms92, targets MS92/PTC1. essential for we provided identifying network
