ABSTRACT
Listeriosis occurs due to consumption of contaminated food including raw milk. This study was aimed assess the occurrence Listeria species along Haramaya University Dairy Farm's operational stages with antibiotic resistance test on isolates in oromia-Ethiopia. Study involves 30 lactating cows and 170 randomly collected different types dairy environmental samples. The samples were examined for species. tested against eight antibiotics. Out 200 samples, 10 (20%) positive isolated from cow barn, milk supply, silage feed teat, milking operation auditing at 30%, 26.7%, 20%, 18.6% 10%, respectively. L. monocytogenes (5.5%), innocua (5%), gray (3%), ivanovii (2.5%), seeligeri (2%) welshimeri also isolated. High resistant monocytogene tetracycline (54.5%), amoxicillin (40%), each penicillin (60%), (100%), welsheri (75%) (66.7%) observed. Of all 40 isolates, 35%, 25%, 17.5% 5% single, two, three four drugs, Detection considerable proportion of, studied sampling location shows there rere risk contamination. Thus application basic hygiene could reduce consumer infection.
