ABSTRACT
This study introduces a novel image formation model - the double pass fundus reflection (DPFR) for retinal enhancement (restoration). The DPFR reveals specific feature that was hitherto neglected in modeling light propagation of imaging all published reports on enhancement. Based model, procedures proposed restoration algorithm are given. failure dark channel prior images RGB color space is clarified. While solution about how to bypass challenge proposed. Each step tested experimentally with different degraded situations validate its robustness. Moreover, method 906 from five public databases. Six quality matrixes including definition, sharpness, local contrast, multiscale entropy, and fog density used objective assessments. results compared state-of-art methods, showing superiority over others terms implementation efficiency.
