ABSTRACT
The thyrohyoid membrane is located between the hyoid bone and thyroid cartilage. Transection of can be fatal.A 54-year-old man presented to emergency room after attempting commit suicide by cutting his neck. An endotracheal tube was inserted through membrane, which had been cut almost completely. After a tracheostomy, temporary wound closure performed due coagulopathy caused hemorrhagic shock. Several hours later, hyoidothyroidopexy performed. Damage control surgery applied this patient's neck injury. tracheostomy removed postoperatively he discharged without complications.Damage could an option for airway injury with blood clotting problems massive bleeding securing patent airway.
