ABSTRACT
Titanium, Aluminum and Vanadium (Ti 6Al 4V) alloy are frequently used as surgical implant but regarding their compatibility in living systems is limited. Ti 4V was prepared from high purity constituents powder (25 mg/ml solvent/Kg body weight) gavaged to albino mice for 8 days. A saline treated control group maintained parallel. series of behavioral (rota rod, light dark box, open field novel object) test performance, complete blood count, selected serum (HDL cholesterol, LDL creatinine, cholesterol triglycerides) parameters, antioxidant metabolites vital organs (superoxide dismutase, catalase lipid peroxidation) weight were determined both treatments. It observed that rota rod performance male (P = 0.05) object recognition capability female 0.04) significantly reduced compared respective groups. Body weight, count studied parameters remained unaffected when between two treatments genders. Concentration superoxide dismutase liver 0.008), heart 0.01) lungs elevated while concentration 0.001) decreased exposed 25 solvent/kg 6 l 4 V powder. In case mice, conclusion, our results indicated short term exposure Ti-6Al-4V supplementation had adversely affected aspects behavior a gender specific manner. Analysis has demonstrated the applied dose can disturb H₂O₂ associated metabolic pathways especially mice. As this part implants, so we recommend effects must be extensively explored under variable time conditions know more about biocompatibility.
