ABSTRACT
Although many conceptualisations of critical thinking (CT) exist, the vast majority acknowledge importance both skill-based and disposition-based components. There is, however, a notable lack agreement regarding what constitutes CT dispositions how best to approach measurement dispositions. The current study reports on development validation new Student-Educator Negotiated Dispositions scale (SENCTDS). Using collective intelligence methods for item generation exploratory confirmatory factor analysis across two independent samples structure identification, six-factor disposition was developed. Convergent predictive validity tests indicated relationships between other constructs outcomes, including Need Cognition (NCS), Motivated Strategies Learning (MSLQ), Real World Outcomes Critical Thinking (RWO), conspiracy paranormal beliefs. Given limited availability measures dispositions, SENCTDS is valuable contribution field, which may prove useful in future research that seeks examine predictors outcomes aspects CT.
